The following scriptures are 25 Bible Verses about Strength related to temptation, peace, love, hope, hard times, God's promises, and prayer.

These Bible verses about strength are categorized by type. Wherever necessary, commentary may be included for clarification on certain bible verses.

All strength comes from God, who is the very giver of life. Anyone who pridefully thinks they don't need God has neglected the fact that the strength they already have was given to them by God as a grace. True strength is found in our humility and understanding of this truth.

Bible Verses about Strength and Temptation

As James 1:13-15 explains, God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone. We are tempted by our own lusts and evil desires. We must take responsibility for our temptations, and take refuge in the fact that we will never experience temptation beyond what we can handle. As children of God, we have conquered the world just as Jesus has. We must resolve to be strong and faithful.

1 Corinthians 10:13

No temptation has taken you but such as man can bear. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation make also the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

1 John 5:4

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world: your faith.

James 1:12

Blessed is the man who endures temptation, for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life, which the Lord promised to those who love him.

1 Corinthians 16:13

Watch! Stand firm in the faith! Be men! Be strong!

Bible Verses about Strength and Peace

Peace is found when we understand that God is the source of all strength, and we are completely dependent on Him. Without His free gifts of life and strength, we would be nothing.

A God who gives such valuable gifts for free is not likely to abandon us. Rather, He is our light and our salvation. He is our strength and our life. And He will give life eternally to those who obey and are faithful to Jesus Christ, which is promised through His Spirit of Truth and Love.

Psalms 27:1

Yahweh is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? Yahweh is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid?

Psalms 118:14

Yahweh is my strength and song. He has become my salvation.

2 Timothy 1:7

For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and discipline.

John 16:33

I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have oppression; but cheer up! I have overcome the world.

Philippians 4:7

The peace of God, which passes all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

Bible Verses about Strength and Love

God's love for us is unfathomable, yet it is revealed in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. A God who would go so far for us will certainly give us the strength we need to obey Him. God's love is the source of our strength, and it leads to eternal life.

Colossians 1:13

Who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of his love.

Jude 1:21

Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.

Psalms 107:1

Give thanks to Yahweh, For he is good, For his lovingkindness endures forever.

Bible Verses about Strength and Hope

Our hope comes from God's promises, knowing that God cannot tell a lie. He will be faithful to us until the end, as we are faithful to Him until the end.

Psalms 119:114

You are my hiding place and my shield. I hope in your word.

Romans 5:5

And hope doesn't disappoint us, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit which was given to us.

Psalms 23:4

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

Bible Verses about Strength and Hard Times

When we are beaten down and broken, God's strength is made perfect because of our humility (2 Corinthians 12:9). We realize we cannot do it on our own. Put all your trust in Him, and seek out His strength.

God is the very Creator of the universe. Who can stand against Him? He knows all and is almighty.

Philippians 4:12-13

I know how to be humbled, and I know also how to abound. In everything and in all things have I learned the secret both to be filled and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in need. I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.

Romans 8:31

What then will we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

1 Peter 5:7

Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you.

Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, And don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, And he will direct your paths.

Jeremiah 29:13

You shall seek me, and find me, when you shall search for me with all your heart.

Bible Verses about Strength and Prayer

When we pray to God, He is our focus. Trust in Him, for He will never abandon you, and know that He has your well-being in mind. God is more than willing to give everything good to you, including wisdom, strength, love, peace, hope, joy, patience, as well as His Holy Spirit.

Colossians 4:2

Continue steadfastly in prayer, watching therein with thanksgiving.
