God's New World Order

by Reginald Lee
(Arlington, Texas)

We look to the book of Revelation to find God’s judgment and grace according to his plan. We find that God will judge the wicked and God will ultimately deliver the Saints. Revelation 18:2 WEB "He cried with a mighty voice, saying, "Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, and has become a habitation of demons, and a prison of every unclean spirit, and a prison of every unclean and hateful bird! " In Revelation 18:2 Babylon represents the corrupt systems of the world be it religious, political, or commercial.

Babylon is doomed to fall because this is God’s judgment. We look at how the nations of the world such as the kings and merchants of the Earth have made themselves rich by whole heartily committing to a system of greed and oppression. In the book of Revelation, John gives us a vision of Babylon falling. In the day of the Lord, the fall and collapse of evil (as we know it) and the Prince of this world will come to an end. Jesus and the Saints of the ages will come and put an end to this world’s systems.

You look at the world and think "they have it made" and "there is so much happiness, big spending, big names, and fame." All of this is going to fall and come to an untimely end. For God alone knows when the last day shall be, and when the trumpet shall sound, and the dead in Christ shall rise.

Spiritual Unfaithfulness to God

Revelation 18:3 WEB "For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her sexual immorality, the kings of the earth committed sexual immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth grew rich from the abundance of her luxury."

The writer uses the metaphor drinking wine to show that the world leaders of all the nations have been overcome by the defilement of sin and corruption that Satan as instituted in the systems of the world through greed and oppression.

The nations of the world have sold themselves out to the Prince of this world and have become drunk. To be drunk is to become overpowered by the influence of a drug. If we look around at the world today it has been overpowered by the influence of Satan and his devises.

The wine of fornication is not merely physical fornication, but the John is speaking to us in regards to spiritual fornication which is unfaithfulness to God. Fornication is when one has extramarital relations outside of marriage, which is unfaithfulness to the law of God, because sex is a holy act between man and a woman within marriage. Fornication is unfaithfulness to God by becoming involved in alternatives to the word of God. The great harlot comes with an alternative that is a different way to what God has shown in his word to be true. Many have looked upon this harlot and her alternative lifestyle, as well as her pleasures which last only for a season.

God's New World Order and Jesus

In Revelation 21:1, we find God's New World Order. It is not the kind of order that will be instituted by a

military regime or the kings of this world. This is a new world order that was instituted on Calvary’s cross. By Jesus' blood we have received his spirit, and in his Kingdom you cannot be voted in, but rather you must be born again of the Holy Spirit. Jesus also describes this as being born of the Spirit, and of water, as well as born of God's word, and born of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We must receive the spirit of our Lord Jesus into our hearts, which is the presence of God dwelling on the inside, an everlasting habitation. We have received eternity into our hearts by knowing the love, joy and salvation of God.

Our Assurance is in Christ

"I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth have passed away, and the sea is no more." Revelation 21:1 WEB

We can live in this blessed assurance that one day the evil nations of this world will pass away. Babylon will fall in a day and the city will be demised in one great moment. When we look around and see so much trouble in the land, we can look within and know that there is hope. The judgment of God is sure no evil doer will go unpunished on the day of reckoning.

There are many ways in which the systems of this world will fail you. Religious, Political, and Commercial systems will fail you, but the word of God will never fail you, because it is impossible for God to lie.

Every promise that he has made will be fulfilled when we see Jesus. Faith will no longer be hope but faith will be by sight for we shall see him just has he is. Every prayer will be answered. Every sermon will be understood. Every mystery will be open and fulfilled. When I see Jesus he will wipe away all tears from my eyes.

Christ our King

"He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more. The first things have passed away. He who sits on the throne said, 'Behold, I make all things new.' He said, 'Write, for these words are faithful and true.'" Revelation 21:4-5 WEB

Your faith must stand in the Lord Jesus for in him we have a blessed hope. For in him we can look forward to God's New World Order. This present world is going to be done away with in a twinkling of an eye. We shall appear in his likeness, glory, and the unity of Christ. The bride of Christ shall stand with the bridegroom and we shall be like him in every way.

In the mist of all the trails and tribulation that we encounter we can look to the book of Revelation and there we find the plan of God. The word of God has said I am true and I am faithful, therefore we must not be fearful or doubtful but always know that God is true and faithful what he has promised he will perform.
